I suppose that this prompt is fitting seeing as November is almost over and many writers all over the world have been participating in NaNoWriMo.
No matter who you are, the writing schedule of NaNo is going to be… well… chaotic. Unless you have nothing else to do. Which is not the case for most of us. A lot of us have to go to school and/or work among other things.
How do you set aside time for writing?
I usually set aside about an hour and a half to write daily. At least. That means that whatever happens, I have to write for about an hour and a half. Usually that’s enough to get me to 1,667 a day. When I have more time, I write.
But it’s also important to remember that you have a life outside of writing. If you’ve thrown yourself into NaNo, you probably love writing. That’s probably why you’re doing NaNo in the first place. In order to motivate yourself to write more because you love to write. But you have other hobbies too. You have other things that you’d like to do. So set aside time for those things too. It’s not a bad thing to take a break. In fact, it’s a good thing.
How did you set aside time to write during NaNo?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
